Recently, reports have surfaced online about some changes to WhatsApp’s status updates. From a completely revamped interface to the ability to mention contacts privately, the instant messaging platform has introduced several new features. According to a recent report by WA Beta Info, WhatsApp now allows users to share longer voice notes as status updates.
The report from WA Beta Info indicates that WhatsApp is now expanding the capabilities of its status feature, applicable to both iOS and Android users. The Meta-owned app now allows users to share voice notes up to 1 minute long. With recent updates, users can record and share more detailed audio messages in their status, facilitating longer and uninterrupted communication.
The ability to post longer videos in WhatsApp status has been a highly anticipated feature, enabling users to share more meaningful and extensive clips. This update is particularly useful for sharing events, announcements, or any moment that could not be captured within the previous 30-second limit.
According to a screenshot shared by WA Beta Info, users can hold down a mic button to record a voice note, similar to how voice notes are sent in chats. Additionally, users can slide to cancel the voice note if needed.
Currently, this new feature is available in the latest version of WhatsApp for some users. Android users can find the update on the Google Play Store, while iOS users can download it from the App Store. It is expected that this feature will be rolled out to more users in the coming days.
Other Upcoming Status Features
In addition to longer voice notes, WhatsApp is also working on several other features. Recent reports suggest that WhatsApp will give users more control over who can view their status updates.
The instant messaging app is testing new tools that will allow users to specifically manage who can view the content they share. This means users will have more control over their updates.
