Ori Industries is making strides in technology by being the first UK data centre to implement Nvidia’s H200 GPUs, addressing the burgeoning demands in artificial intelligence. These powerful GPUs will be available for client use starting January 2025, marking a significant advancement in computational capacity for AI applications.
The planned rollout includes Nvidia’s GB200 exascale computers, expected to be operational by April of the same year. The company’s decision to utilise such cutting-edge technology signifies a commitment to remaining at the forefront of data centre advancements.
Nvidia’s H200 GPUs offer substantial improvements, boasting 141GB of memory with a bandwidth of 4.8 terabytes per second. This represents close to double the capacity and more than twice the bandwidth of the earlier A100 model, which is pivotal for enhancing AI computing efficiency.
Alongside these developments, hyperscaler Nscale has announced plans to use H200 chips with AMD Instinct GPUs, aiming to expand its AI cloud platform across several new UK and European sites.
Mahdi Yahya, Ori’s CEO, remarked, “Ori will be the first to deploy NVIDIA H200 GPUs in a UK data centre, offering them to UK businesses and international companies requiring UK-based compute from January 2025.” His vision underscores a strategic focus on bolstering UK’s technological infrastructure.
