Adobe’s generative AI-powered features now enable users to edit images within Acrobat. These features include generative fill, background removal, erase, and crop tools, which allow users to add, remove, or enhance content in document images. Acrobat users can also generate and add images created using the company’s in-house developed Firefly Image 3 model.
The company stated that it has added new features to the Acrobat AI assistant, which helps users ask questions, gain insights, create content, and obtain meeting transcripts. These features are compatible not only with PDF files but also with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, text files, and other formats.
Based on the information in a document or a group of documents, the Acrobat AI assistant can generate intelligent summaries that allow users to quickly verify the sources of the answers and navigate to specific sections more efficiently. Adobe also clarified that it will include content credentials on AI-generated or edited content so that it can be easily identified.
The company mentioned that the Acrobat AI assistant features will be available for free until June 28, after which customers will need to purchase an AI assistant add-on subscription, starting at $4.99 (approximately ₹420). Additionally, from June 18, all Acrobat Standard and Pro customers will receive 250 generative credits per month for image editing and generation at no extra cost.
Earlier this year, Adobe added an AI assistant to Reader and Acrobat using the same AI and machine learning model used in Acrobat’s Liquid Mode.
