One of Kajol’s most iconic films, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, where she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan, remains immensely popular even today.
Released in 1995, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has become a Bollywood classic and continues to hold a special place in the hearts of audiences. Directed by Aditya Chopra, the film has been running in theatres for 28 years, maintaining its timeless appeal.
When asked by an Indian news outlet if the film should ever be remade, Kajol expressed her firm opposition, saying, “A movie like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge should not be remade.” She holds the same view about Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, another of her popular films.
Kajol elaborated, “I believe magic happens only once. If you try to recreate it, it won’t have the same feeling.”
According to Kajol, these films possess a unique charm that can’t be recaptured. Remaking them would likely disappoint audiences. She explained, “Just like there’s a certain emotion tied to magic, films give you that feeling as well. When you watch them for the first time, they make you feel something, but if someone tries to recreate that, the emotion might not be the same.”
Kajol, a much-loved Bollywood actress, will soon be seen in the Hindi remake of the American courtroom drama series The Good Wife. She was last seen in Netflix’s series The Romantics, a documentary about the life, films, and production house of Yash Chopra.
