Plans are underway to transform two former office buildings in Chester into 176 luxury apartments. Blueoak Estates, a developer based in Chester, is spearheading this ambitious redevelopment of the Tower House and Charterhall House. These properties, once used by Lloyds Banking Group, have been unoccupied for several years. Their proximity to Chester Railway Station situates them within the broader ‘Gateway’ district revitalization plan.
Blueoak Estates has expressed pride in the scale of this initiative, describing it as their largest and most ambitious project to date, pending necessary planning consent. The ethos of the firm, as described by Managing Director Iain MacLean, centres on the creation of a ‘sustainable legacy.’ This is reflected in the decision to retain the original 1970s architectural structures rather than opting for demolition.
