Growing estate agency My Property Box has strategically expanded its operations by acquiring two key letting agencies in the North East and North Yorkshire. These acquisitions are aligned with its broader objective to strengthen market presence and operations.
The acquisition includes John Prest, a venerable agency in Northallerton, founded in 1926. This agency, which has been in the Prest family for four generations, continues to operate under the John Prest name. The office location and two staff members are retained, ensuring continuity of service. John Prest commented on the acquisition, stating: “Our family has proudly run this business across four generations, but after thoughtful consideration, we believed it was the right time to pass the baton. I’m pleased the trusted Prest name, along with our office and dedicated staff, will continue, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.”
In addition, My Property Box has integrated Landlords 2, located in Darlington, into its operations. This decision followed the retirement of its long-serving director, Tim Haigh. The physical office on Coniscliffe Road has been closed, with services being folded into My Property Box’s infrastructure.
These strategic acquisitions come on the back of a multimillion-pound investment from BGF, secured by My Property Box earlier in the summer. This funding underscores the firm’s commitment to expanding its reach in the property market, enhancing its portfolio by adding over 450 managed properties.
Ben Quaintrell, the founder and CEO of My Property Box, emphasized the importance of these acquisitions, noting that both John Prest and Landlords 2 share core values that align with the company’s principles of integrity and trust. He remarked: “These acquisitions are an important part of our strategy to strengthen our market presence across the North East and North Yorkshire. Both John Prest and Landlords 2 have a long-standing reputation for delivering excellent service, and we’re excited to build on these foundations.”
The expansion through these acquisitions enables My Property Box to continue providing exceptional service while solidifying its market position in the North East.
