Two renowned professional services brands based in Bristol are embarking on a significant move to a new, contemporary office hub located at One Temple Quay. Shakespeare Martineau, a prominent law firm, along with planning, design, and development consultancy Marrons, are set to vacate their current premises in Queen Square. This strategic move positions both brands to leverage a location that enhances their collaborative and flexible working ethos.
The new office space situated in Temple Back East is part of the broader move by the legal and professional services group, Ampa, of which both Shakespeare Martineau and Marrons are a part. Aiming to support innovative working environments, the new facilities encompass 30 desks, four meeting rooms, shared access to collaborative zones, breakout areas, and dedicated spaces including a bike storage area. Additionally, the site accommodates an outdoor courtyard, a sizeable auditorium fit for 140 people, and an on-site restaurant empowering social and business engagements.
Nick Jones, co-head of Shakespeare Martineau’s Bristol hub, expressed enthusiasm, noting, “It was time for us to move to a space that better reflects our empowered and collaborative working ethos. Our new Bristol hub offers a modern, accessible, and agile space for our people and clients to work and collaborate in, but it also provides flexibility for the space to continue to grow with us.” His comments reflect the firm’s forward-thinking approach to both employee and client engagement, a vital aspect in the dynamic business environment of Bristol.
Tom Macklen, Architecture Director at Marrons, echoed this sentiment stating, “Our move to this new, flexible space reflects our commitment to supporting creativity and collaboration in an environment that aligns with our values of sustainability and growth. It is great to be part of Bristol’s dynamic business landscape and we’re eager to continue expanding our presence in the region.” This move thus represents not merely a shift in physical location, but an alignment with key sustainable values that both firms uphold.
This relocation follows Shakespeare Martineau’s expansion into Bristol in 2022 after merging with GL Law, adding over 60 new team members. Similarly, Marrons’ establishment of a new architecture team in 2023 marked its strategic growth in the South West, thus reaffirming its commitment to this vibrant regional market.
This strategic relocation underscores the firms’ dedication to fostering collaborative and sustainable business environments.
