Plans have been submitted to erect two skyscrapers in Birmingham city centre, signifying a major step in urban redevelopment. This ambitious project involves the construction of residential and student housing in two towers, 41 and 48 storeys high, at 1 Lancaster Circus.
Strategically positioned near Aston and Birmingham City universities, the development is tailored to attract students and city professionals alike. The structure will comprise 900 apartments and 700 student units, leveraging its close proximity to these academic institutions.
This significant urban development effort is being driven by Sama Investment Group. The company aims to revitalise a dormant city space, having acquired the former council office site in response to the council’s operational shift due to increased remote working practices.
Additional features spotlighted in the proposal include a gym, spa, cinema room, and multi-use ground-floor space for commerce or leisure. Moreover, a newly integrated pavilion is designed to act as a central point for both residents and the general public.
