Vinted, a prominent second-hand marketplace, has responded to user dissatisfaction concerning modifications to its delivery options earlier this week. On Monday, 5 August, a number of Vinted’s users in the UK encountered difficulties accessing the platform’s courier selection list, which includes services such as Evri, Yodel, InPost, DPD, and Royal Mail.
Although users have the liberty to choose their preferred courier, availability is contingent on the seller’s selection, often influenced by the proximity of InPost lockers or access to label printers.
Social media platforms recently witnessed a surge in posts criticising Vinted for allegedly obscuring the courier selection page within their application. In response to these grievances, Vinted has reverted the app to its former configuration, ensuring users can once again view the full range of courier options.
A spokeswoman from Vinted clarified to Drapers that the company frequently conducts tests and trials to enhance its services. “We heard the feedback and confirm the shipping options have returned to their previous settings, there are no further actions needed from the members,” she stated.
Established in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted now boasts a user base of 65 million across 21 countries. The company’s strategic elimination of seller fees in favour of buyer protection fees in 2016 significantly propelled its growth, according to Marianne Gybels, the senior sustainability director, speaking at Drapers Sustainable Fashion conference in London.
Vinted’s fiscal health is robust, as evidenced by the latest financial results released on 29 April, which indicate a 61% increase in year-on-year revenue to €596.3 million (£509 million), and a return to profitability with a net profit of €17.8 million (£15.2 million), a substantial turnaround from a net loss reported in 2022.
Vinted’s swift response to user feedback underscores its dedication to customer satisfaction and continuous service improvement.
