Three leading Manchester-based food and beverage companies have pooled their resources to launch a distinctive establishment called ‘The Trading Route’. Located on Good Yards Street in the vibrant St John’s district, this inventive venture results from the collaboration between Trof, Manchester Union Brewery, and Wandering Palate, aiming to invigorate the local dining scene.
Scheduled to debut in November, ‘The Trading Route’ promises patrons an extraordinary gastronomic experience featuring ice-cold beers, sizzling hot chicken, and an exquisite range of pantry items sourced by Wandering Palate. Matt Nellany of Trof expressed enthusiasm about transitioning Trof’s beloved attributes to a fresh and dynamic location, offering everything from breakfasts and lunches to extensive dinner sessions.
Operational throughout the day, the venue will spotlight a custom-designed rotisserie for preparing succulent whole and half chickens and porchetta, paired with an enticing selection of pickles and sauces. Additional menu items, such as focaccia, fresh salads, and homemade desserts, have been crafted by Trof’s culinary team, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all visitors.
Wandering Palate, a favourite from Monton, will introduce their curated pantry selections, encompassing wines, cheeses, and deli favourites, intended to captivate a new city centre audience. Will Evans of Wandering Palate shared his excitement about presenting these carefully chosen products and assisting customers in finding something exceptional to enjoy at home.
Functioning as a lager house for Manchester Union Brewery, The Trading Route will offer lagers presented in bespoke Tübinger glasses, employing a continental pouring style. Jamie Scahill of Manchester Union Brewery conveyed excitement over establishing this long-anticipated tap room, highlighting the harmonious blending of offerings from all three collaborators.
The expertise of PHAUS, a Manchester-based design studio renowned for projects such as Jane Eyre and Freight Island, has been sought to craft an inviting interior layout, which includes both indoor and outdoor seating areas, accommodating up to 150 guests in style.
With its innovative blend of food, drink, and design, ‘The Trading Route’ is poised to become a notable destination in Manchester’s culinary landscape this November.
