Tesco, the largest supermarket chain in the UK, has strategically advanced its Christmas delivery slots by one week for the year 2024, in direct response to the rising demand observed during this period. The company plans to deploy 60 new delivery vans to ensure an efficient service and has projected the availability of thousands of additional delivery slots nationwide in the two weeks leading up to Christmas Day.
Customers who have subscribed to Tesco’s anytime delivery saver plan or who utilise the click and collect service will gain access to book their delivery slots as early as 6 am on 5th November. Meanwhile, general access for all other shoppers will commence on 13th November from the same early hour.
To benefit from the priority booking facility, interested customers must sign up for Tesco’s services by the 4th of November. The retailer has also made enhancements to its Whoosh service, which is designed to cater to those needing to purchase last-minute or forgotten items crucial for the Christmas feast. Additional delivery slots will be made available on Christmas Eve to support this service, reflecting a commitment to customer satisfaction and adaptability.
Tom Denyard, the Managing Director of Tesco Online, emphasised the company’s dedication to aiding customers in preparing for their holiday celebrations, stating, “We’re looking forward to helping customers across the UK pick up their family favourites or treat themselves to something special this festive season.”
