The Drapers Awards 2024, renowned as the ‘Oscars’ of the fashion retail industry, showcased the pinnacle of excellence at a prestigious ceremony in London. Hosted by well-known comedian Josh Widdicombe, the event on 13th November brought together major players from across the fashion sector, who came to celebrate outstanding achievements.
An essential fixture in the fashion calendar, the awards honoured the best in marketing campaigns, store designs, and diversity initiatives, among other categories. George at Asda received commendation for its ‘Uniform for the People’ marketing campaign for companies with a turnover exceeding £100 million, while Weird Fish’s ‘The Outsiders’ was celebrated for companies under that threshold.
The accolades extended to the Best Place to Work, secured by Seasalt, and the Best Store Design, awarded to Yellow Octopus Circular Solutions for their collaboration with Lululemon at a Paris pop-up store. The Diversity and Inclusion Award underscored Primark’s efforts with its initiative on making adaptive fashion more accessible.
Esteemed figures served as judges, drawing from a wide array of experience in the retail landscape, including roles at Secret Sales, GlobalData, New Look, and Primark, among others. Among the notable winners, Marks & Spencer was a standout, recognised as the Retailer of the Year for businesses over £100 million turnover, while Nobody’s Child excelled with the same title for the £10 million to £100 million category, further securing the Team of the Year award for its Ecommerce and Customer Care Team. Barbour was honoured as the Menswear Brand of the Year.
