Sainsbury’s is extending its Nectar Prices scheme, offering significant savings on Heinz products for a limited period. The promotion is scheduled from 1st to 3rd September, with discounts of up to 50% on items like Heinz Tomato Ketchup, Seriously Good Mayonnaise, Big Soup, and various canned soups and condiments. This move comes shortly after the complete roll-out of the Nectar Prices initiative, which has already provided substantial savings on more than 3,500 products.
Since launching the Nectar Prices programme, Sainsbury’s has facilitated a cumulative saving of over £244 million for its customers, with an average saving of £3.15 per shopping trip. This latest promotion on Heinz products is part of Sainsbury’s continued commitment to deliver value amidst the ongoing cost-of-living challenges that many consumers face.
Previously in April, Sainsbury’s initiated lower Nectar Prices across a wide range of brands, including Heinz. The recent extension aligns with similar efforts to offer cost-effective shopping solutions to consumers. The initiative is characterised as a “market leading, first-of-its-kind Nectar promotion” by the Director of Grocery, Rachel Clark, who emphasises the organisation’s dedication to offering favourable prices on household staples.
Jojo Lins De Noronha, President of Kraft Heinz Northern Europe, noted the collaborative efforts with Sainsbury’s in delivering substantial savings to customers, encouraging the purchase of beloved Heinz favourites. The discounts are strategically designed to enhance customer value at a time when production costs are exerting upward pressure on retail prices.
The backdrop to this promotion involves a recent increase in Heinz’s prices, a decision driven by the need to offset production cost hikes amid economic strains, highlighting the significance of the Nectar Prices discount in making Heinz products more accessible.
The extension of Sainsbury’s Nectar Prices scheme underscores its commitment to providing value through strategic promotions.
