Richard Price, the managing director of clothing and home at Marks & Spencer, has embarked on a new venture as he joins the board of Refined Networks as a non-executive director. This marks a significant addition to the company’s leadership. Price is the first board member after the company’s foundation in 2021 by industry leaders Ben Barnett, Ian Wallis, and Sune Bjerregaard.
Refined Networks specialises in facilitating the presence of fashion brands on international marketplaces, contributing to their global sales growth. The company has successfully aided brands such as Benetton and J.Lindeberg. Future collaborations are anticipated with Nordstrom and Macy’s, in addition to several platforms in Europe and the Middle East, signalling a strategic expansion initiative.
Price brings a wealth of expertise from his extensive career, spanning key roles at Next, BHS, and Tesco’s F&F, culminating in his current position at M&S. During his tenure at M&S, Price was instrumental in implementing the ‘Never the Same Again’ strategy, which enhanced product design, digital platforms, and third-party brand integration.
Price stated, “With the world’s leading retailers launching their own third-party brand platforms, fashion brands have a huge opportunity for growth – but often lack the relationships, expertise or resources to trade across multiple platforms, or cross-border into new markets.” His commitment as a non-executive director is to bolster the development of Refined Networks, ensuring fashion brands can reach their full global potential.
Ben Barnett, chair and co-founder of Refined Networks, expressed enthusiasm about Price’s appointment, highlighting his transformative influence at M&S and his alignment with the company’s vision of leveraging digital marketplaces for global fashion growth. Barnett believes Price’s leadership will be vital in steering Refined Networks towards achieving its strategic goals and benefitting its brand partners.
Richard Price’s appointment represents a pivotal moment for Refined Networks, as his extensive experience and visionary leadership are poised to further its global ambitions.
