Primark has announced a significant expansion of its click and collect service, extending the offering to 54 additional stores across Great Britain. This move aligns with Primark’s strategy to enhance shopping convenience for customers, particularly during the busy Christmas shopping season. By making the service available in more than half of its nationwide stores, Primark is making strides towards its goal of implementing click and collect across all locations by the end of 2025.
The expansion not only widens the geographical reach but also broadens the product range available through click and collect. Items in menswear and homewares categories will now be accessible, adding to the existing women’s and kidswear lines. This initiative is expected to attract a diverse customer base, providing a more well-rounded shopping experience.
Retail Director Kari Rodgers remarked, “It’s been fifty years since we first opened our doors in Derby to bring affordable fashion to the British high street and expanding click and collect is another way we are giving people more reasons to visit their local high street and Primark.” She emphasized the convenience and extended range offered through this service, anticipating positive customer reception especially before the festive season.
Among the new stores offering the service are key locations such as Birmingham Fort Parkway, Leeds – Trinity, and Oxford’s Westgate, alongside many others. This strategic inclusion of both metropolitan and regional locations highlights Primark’s commitment to enhancing accessibility for a broad clientele. In addition to expanding in-store services, Primark has experienced significant financial growth. The retailer reported a 46% increase in adjusted operating profit, reaching £508 million for the 24 weeks ending 2 March, with a 7.5% rise in sales to £4.5 billion. This growth is attributed to both new store openings and previous price adjustments made to balance inflation, leading to improved margins.
Primark’s strategic expansion of its click and collect service underlines its commitment to customer satisfaction and high street revitalisation.
