Primark is set to broaden its click-and-collect service to 54 additional stores across the UK, marking a significant step in offering convenience and expanded shopping options to customers. With the inclusion of menswear and homeware for the first time, the retailer expects to enhance its appeal and accessibility. This expansion builds on a successful trial that initially launched in November 2022, covering 25 stores in regions including the North West of England, North Wales, and Yorkshire.
The click-and-collect service’s success prompted further growth, and by April 2023, it was extended to 32 new locations in and around London. Alongside this geographic expansion, womenswear was added to the product range, providing customers with a wider selection of items through the convenient service.
In a statement, Primark announced its ambitious plan to further roll out the click-and-collect service to all 184 stores in England, Wales, and Scotland by the end of 2025. This move aligns with Primark’s ongoing strategy to integrate more shopping conveniences within its traditional retail model, capitalising on the brand’s presence and customer footfall.
Primark is commemorating its 50th anniversary on the British high street, a journey that began with its first store in Derby in September 1974. In light of this milestone, the company will invest more than £100 million in its UK outlets over the coming year, including opening three new stores, undertaking three relocations, and completing two extensions.
Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark, emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting local high streets. “Expanding click & collect is another way we are giving people more reasons to visit their local high street and Primark,” Rodgers stated. The initiative not only serves to increase customer convenience but also reinforces Primark’s role in revitalising local retail landscapes.
Primark’s expansion of its click-and-collect service marks a significant milestone in its retail strategy, enhancing shopping convenience and customer access.
