Poundstretcher has announced a series of key appointments, signalling a strategic shift under new ownership.
- Miles Foster, formerly of Morrisons, joins as Group Operations Director, overseeing over 300 stores.
- Liz Harris is appointed as Head of Retail Operations, bringing nearly two decades of experience from Morrisons.
- Tony Fearon steps into the role of Group Commercial Director, enhancing the executive team.
- The leadership team is further bolstered with notable hires from B&M, One Beyond, and Asda.
In a strategic move to reinforce its leadership, Poundstretcher has appointed several senior executives under the guidance of its new private equity owner. These appointments come as the discount retailer aims to drive future growth and success.
Miles Foster, with an extensive 35-year tenure at Morrisons, has assumed the role of Group Operations Director at Poundstretcher. Reporting directly to CEO Andy Atkinson, Foster is tasked with overseeing the operations of 300 stores and spearheading the retailer’s growth initiatives. Andy Atkinson, who himself transitioned from being the Group Commercial Director at Morrisons to CEO of Poundstretcher in April, welcomes this seasoned expertise.
Alongside Foster, Liz Harris steps in as Head of Retail Operations. Harris brings substantial experience from her nearly 20-year career at Morrisons, which she left in 2022. Her role will focus on executing operational strategies that prioritise efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Complementing the leadership team is Tony Fearon, who joins as Group Commercial Director. Fearon’s experience as a category director at Morrisons adds a layer of commercial acuity to the team. Supporting him in the trading division is Kyle Storey, an ex-Poundland executive, heading trading for FMCG, and Connor Black, formerly of Morrisons, leading pet trading.
The expansion of Poundstretcher’s leadership doesn’t stop there. The team also welcomes Annette Beecham, formerly with Home Bargains and B&M, and Mandy Fitzpatrick, who will take charge of loss prevention, drawing from her effective tenure at Poundland. Further bolstering the team are new area managers Tim Dearing, Simon Smith, and James MacTavish, each bringing valuable insights from known retail giants such as B&M, One Beyond, Morrisons, and Asda.
These strategic appointments underscore Poundstretcher’s commitment to leveraging experienced leadership for its business transformation.
