Poundstretcher has strategically recruited experienced executives from Morrisons to strengthen its commercial and store operations teams. This move comes months after the acquisition by private equity firm Fortress, which appointed Andy Atkinson, the former commercial director of Morrisons, as CEO.
Andy Atkinson, bringing extensive expertise from his tenure at Morrisons, leads this transformative initiative. Under his leadership, the company has hired Miles Foster as operations director. Foster, with 35 years of experience at Morrisons, is tasked with overseeing over 300 stores and driving Poundstretcher’s growth plan.
This recruitment strategy also sees Tony Fearon coming on board as group commercial director and Liz Harris heading the retail operations team. Both bring substantial experience from their previous roles at Morrisons, enhancing the strategic competencies of Poundstretcher’s leadership.
To further bolster the trading team, Connor Black, a former Morrisons buying executive, and Kyle Storey, an ex-Poundland executive, have been appointed in key roles. Their expertise is expected to drive significant improvements in trading operations for pets and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
The operations team will benefit from the addition of Annette Beecham and Mandy Fitzpatrick, who bring valuable experience from their previous positions at Home Bargains, B&M, and Poundland. This new leadership ensemble is poised to lead Poundstretcher into a new era of customer-focused growth and operational excellence.
