Wood Wood undergoes major management restructuring post-acquisition by DK Company.
- Co-founder Brian SS Jensen assumes the role of creative director.
- New brand director appointed: Morten Dybdahl of DK Company.
- Gitte Wetternt joins as head of design from Samsøe Samsøe.
- The restructuring aims to steer Wood Wood towards simplicity and honesty.
Following its acquisition by DK Company in April 2024, Wood Wood has experienced significant changes in its management structure. The changes come in the wake of the brand’s financial challenges, which led to insolvency in 2023 and subsequent store closures in London and Berlin.
In a strategic move to revitalise the brand, co-founder Brian SS Jensen has stepped into the role of creative director. Jensen’s transition aligns with the vision to return Wood Wood to its core values, producing collections that honour its heritage while propelling forward its development. Jensen expressed gratitude for DK Company’s support, emphasising the opportunity to ‘create collections that both respect our past and drive the brand’s development forward.’
Leading the brand’s new direction, Morten Dybdahl has been appointed as the new brand director. Dybdahl brings with him a wealth of experience from his current role as brand director of Matinique, another label under DK Company’s ownership. His leadership is anticipated to be pivotal in navigating Wood Wood’s future path.
Additionally, the team welcomes Gitte Wetternt as the head of design. Previously a menswear designer at Samsøe Samsøe, Wetternt is set to collaborate closely with Jensen, leveraging her expertise to inject fresh design perspectives into the brand. This partnership is central to the envisioned transformation under DK Company’s ownership.
The comprehensive management overhaul is designed to reposition Wood Wood towards simplicity and authenticity, reinforcing its standing in the competitive fashion industry.
These strategic appointments are poised to redefine Wood Wood’s trajectory under its new ownership, aspiring towards a simplified, honest approach.
