Majestic Wine is broadening its reach by establishing a state-of-the-art wine emporium within the head office of The Range in Plymouth. This strategic expansion utilises a previously underused area to house a 4,400 square foot store. The space will offer an extensive collection of over 1,200 wines alongside an assortment of beers, spirits, and non-alcoholic alternatives, catering to a diverse clientele.
The Plymouth store contributes to Majestic Wine’s ambitious expansion strategy, being the sixth new branch inaugurated in the current financial year. In its quest for growth, the company has also launched new outlets in Solihull, East Dulwich, and Brentwood, Essex, each reflecting its commitment to enhancing local community engagement through physical retail experiences.
CEO John Colley’s remarks underscore the retailer’s dedication to enhancing its presence in key locations. “Plymouth is a city we’ve been targeting for some time as part of our expansion plans, so we are delighted to finally be opening our newest store here. Everyone at Majestic is looking forward to welcoming hundreds of new customers from the local community and sharing our award-winning wines and expert knowledge with them,” he stated.
Majestic’s focus on experiential retailing is a core part of its strategy as it accelerates investments in urban areas like Solihull. Colley expressed enthusiasm about becoming a part of additional communities in the lead-up to Christmas and beyond, emphasising the brand’s role as champions of traditional retail formats.
Notably, Majestic has experienced a surge in organic wine sales, nearly doubling over the past year as consumer interest and availability in this eco-friendly category surpassed expectations. This uptick is a testament to the brand’s adaptability and responsiveness to market trends, as well as its commitment to sustainability.
Majestic Wine continues to solidify its position in the retail landscape with strategic expansions that align with market demands and community engagement.
