A kitchen fittings company, established by ex-Team GB swimmer Dan Briggs, has recently gained substantial support through the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II). Located in Chadderton, Fittingsco commenced operations in 2017, blending Dan’s rigorous swimming training with entrepreneurial pursuits. This marks another triumph for Northern businesses benefiting from targeted financial support.
Fittingsco offers a diverse catalogue of products such as hinges, drawer systems, and LED under-counter lighting. Their key focus is on maintaining market relevance by aligning closely with current trends and technology advancements. The infusion of capital from NPIF II, managed by FW Capital, is intended to bolster their inventory and catalyse business expansion.
Dan Briggs, Managing Director of Fittingsco, stated, “The NPIF II investment from FW Capital will make a massive difference to our business and the speed at which we can scale up our operations.” He emphasised that the amplified stock levels and anticipated growth would become apparent in the upcoming year, reinforcing their strategic market position.
FW Capital’s investment executive, Caroline Turley, expressed enthusiasm about aiding businesses like Fittingsco to scale effectively. The fund, which provides loans from £25,000 to £2 million, is part of a larger £660 million initiative backed by the British Business Bank. This facilitates accessible debt finance options for SMEs, particularly in the North West.
Sue Barnard, a senior manager at the British Business Bank, highlighted that Fittingsco is leveraging the NPIF II funding to generate employment in Greater Manchester. She acknowledged Dan Briggs’s talent both in athletic and business spheres, recognising his keen insight into the growing demand for his company’s offerings. This initiative illustrates a model for fostering regional economic development through strategic investments.
Fittingsco’s partnership with NPIF II epitomises the successful integration of targeted funding to enhance business growth and job creation in the North.
