Kellogg’s recently demonstrated its commitment to community welfare by donating £4,000 to Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity. This strategic donation is aimed at supporting breakfast clubs in schools, providing necessary funding to help combat childhood hunger and improve educational outcomes.
The £4,000 will be distributed in increments of £500 across eight donations, which Nisa retailers can apply for to benefit local school breakfast initiatives. This effort aligns with Kellogg’s longstanding support for school breakfast clubs in the UK, marking the 25th year of their involvement. The initiative not only helps open the doors of over 3,000 schools each morning but also underscores Kellogg’s pivotal role in addressing childhood hunger.
Head of Charity at Nisa, Kate Carroll, expressed gratitude for Kellogg’s contribution, highlighting the positive impact on school breakfast clubs. She emphasised the importance of collaborations with partners and suppliers to create funding opportunities within communities, showcasing the success of such partnerships.
Further supporting local communities, Nisa’s MADL charity enables stores to nominate local charities or causes to receive designated donations. This flexibility in donation allocation reflects Nisa’s commitment to addressing diverse community needs, which in 2022 resulted in over 2,000 donations totalling more than £1 million.
Heather Murphy, ESG Manager for Kellogg’s UK, reaffirmed the value of supporting breakfast clubs, noting the significant impact of hunger on children’s learning and mood. By partnering with Nisa, Kellogg’s extends its support and continues to provide crucial assistance to children in need.
Additionally, beyond this partnership, Nisa retailers have collaborated with Too Good To Go, successfully saving over 150,000 meals since 2019, further demonstrating their dedication to community welfare.
Kellogg’s partnership with Nisa reinforces its dedication to community support and fighting childhood hunger through strategic charitable initiatives.
