Waitrose, a key component of the John Lewis Partnership, is set to recruit over 2,800 seasonal employees across its 329 stores. These positions include roles such as supermarket assistants, night shift workers, and customer delivery drivers. Emphasising the importance of customer service, Waitrose is also investing in training initiatives at its School of Service, ensuring that new recruits are well-prepared to meet customer needs efficiently and effectively.
In tandem, John Lewis will offer upward of 2,900 temporary roles specifically in sales and merchandising within its 34 retail locations. This effort highlights the company’s strategy to maintain a dynamic and responsive sales force capable of adapting to surges in shopper activity. These positions are designed to support the retail stores directly, ensuring that customer service standards remain consistently high.
Further adding to their comprehensive recruitment strategy, John Lewis Partnership intends to fill around 2,700 roles within its supply chain sector. This includes warehouse operatives and drivers tasked with supporting both Waitrose and John Lewis logistics operations, alongside facilitating Click and Collect services.
