- Executives reportedly face surveillance in public areas across London, Manchester, and Kent.
- Unregistered surveillance was found outside Boohoo’s Manchester headquarters, raising security alarms.
- No arrests have been made, but investigations continue, according to police statements.
Police in Manchester and Kent are currently engaged in thorough investigations into allegations made by several executives of the Boohoo Group regarding stalking and so-called ‘corporate espionage’. These claims have been directed at the current CEO Dan Finley, ex-CEO John Lyttle, and the company’s co-founder Mahmud Kamani, as per a report by The Times. The nature of the allegations has prompted a comprehensive examination into the matter, although the identities of the alleged perpetrators remain undisclosed, and no arrests have been effected till now.
The executives assert that they have been persistently followed by unknown individuals on public transport systems and other areas frequented by the public in urban centres including London, Manchester, and Kent. This situation has understandably caused significant concern among those involved.
Concerns intensified when Boohoo detected an unregistered surveillance apparatus outside its Manchester headquarters on the 13th of November, purportedly capturing video footage of staff members entering and leaving the premises. This discovery raises questions about the security measures in place and the potential motives behind such invasive actions. Prompt action was taken as the device was seized and handed over to the authorities, with the incident subsequently reported to both the Information Commissioner’s Office and Manchester City Council.
Greater Manchester Police have acknowledged the ongoing nature of their investigation, which has been described as causing ‘serious alarm or distress’. Similarly, Kent Police have confirmed their involvement in examining reported incidences of stalking, notably in the Sevenoaks locality. The gravity of these inquiries underscores the seriousness of the allegations faced by the Boohoo executives.
A Boohoo spokesperson has refrained from making comments whilst the police investigation is active, highlighting the sensitivity and potential implications of the case.
As the investigation continues, the involved parties await clarity on the troubling allegations.
