H&M has transformed its store in London’s Westfield Stratford City into a cutting-edge retail space, reopening on 21 November after a substantial refurbishment. Spanning 5,046 square feet, the store now offers a comprehensive range of fashion, home, and beauty products.
A significant feature of the revamped outlet is the introduction of interactive fitting rooms. These rooms are equipped with screens that recognise items by size and colour, providing tailored styling advice. Customers can effortlessly request alternative sizes, colours, or even order online through the interactive system, enhancing the shopping experience significantly.
Further innovation is highlighted by the availability of mobile and self-service checkout facilities. This feature, a first for H&M outlets in the UK, allows customers to check out from anywhere within the store, offering improved convenience and efficiency.
This Stratford City store is only the third globally to utilise these technologies, after Seoul and Stockholm. Such advancements underline H&M’s strategic focus on integrating technology to augment the retail experience.
Klas Degeryd, the head of expansion for H&M UK and Ireland, emphasised that every element of the store is designed with the customer in mind, aiming to celebrate the joy of shopping through exceptional design and smart features. Camilla Henriksson, head of brand experience, highlighted how the redesigned space enriches the H&M brand, focusing on inspiration and personalised service.
The reopening of H&M’s Westfield Stratford City store signifies a forward step in retail innovation, blending modern design with advanced technology.
