H&M is commemorating 20 years of its guest designer collaborations with a ‘special release of pre-loved items’ from past collections. Originally launched in 2004 with a collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld, H&M has consistently aimed to bring high-end fashion to the general public. This new release will include items from prominent designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli, Moschino, Simone Rocha, Mugler, and Rabanne.
The strategic sourcing of these items through partnerships with online pre-loved marketplace Sellpy and various global vintage retailers will allow fashion enthusiasts to acquire pieces that were previously beyond reach. This initiative not only broadens access to luxury fashion but also promotes sustainability by encouraging the purchase of pre-owned clothing.
The first collection drop is scheduled for 24 October, taking place in H&M’s Paris Lafayette store, with a subsequent release at London’s Regent Street store on 25 October. This staggered rollout is part of H&M’s approach to heighten anticipation and manage consumer demand efficiently across major fashion capitals.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor at H&M, stated: “Our aim was to introduce the world of fashion to consumers globally, while showcasing our connection to strong, thoughtful and original design. It connects to the fundamental ethos of H&M: that quality and creativity should be available for everyone.” Such statements underscore H&M’s commitment to maintaining a balance between accessibility and high-end design.
This initiative reaffirms H&M’s dedication to making luxury fashion accessible and sustainable through innovative collaborations.
