Matt Hood, the Managing Director of Co-op Food, shed light on the strategic direction by stating that the company is increasingly focused on acquiring new sites and pursuing growth opportunities. “We’ll be using all our routes to market to both retain the space we already have and grow at scale to meet longer-term ambitions,” Hood noted.
After reporting a robust half-year performance, Co-op sees its strong balance sheet as a foundation for this expansive growth. Hood emphasized the importance of improving all stores and ensuring that each location is equipped to be successful, irrespective of the size or market route.
