The recently unveiled Interpath Retail Index, supported by Oresa executive search, underscores the remarkable growth within the UK fashion retail sector. Among the standout performers, Castore has emerged as the fastest-growing UK retailer. Specialising in sportswear, the brand recorded an impressive two-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 159.92%, achieving a turnover of £115 million in 2024. This positions Castore at the forefront of both the overall retail and fashion categories, showcasing its robust growth trajectory.
Following closely, Passenger Clothing, known for its sustainable outdoor apparel, achieved a 111.14% CAGR, reaching a turnover of £34.3 million. Nobody’s Child, a womenswear brand, secured the third position with a 102.87% CAGR and a turnover of £26 million, solidifying its status in the UK’s fashion industry.
Moss Bros, a brand known for menswear and formal dressing, attained a 99.94% CAGR, with a turnover amounting to £151.6 million. Meanwhile, Me & Em, offering contemporary fashion and having recently inaugurated its flagship store in London’s Marylebone, reported a 93.67% CAGR, achieving an £82 million turnover.
An array of other fashion entities also made their mark in the index, including Sosandar, Apricot, and S.J. Philips, amidst others. The diverse range of companies highlights the vibrancy and competitive nature of the UK fashion scene.
Industry leaders have praised the entrepreneurial dynamism reflected in these figures. Mark Raddan, Group CEO at Interpath, expressed admiration for the exceptional growth demonstrated by these companies, while Orlando Martins, CEO of Oresa, highlighted the sector’s role in fostering social mobility and entrepreneurial success without necessarily relying on external funding. Castore’s co-founder, Tom Beahon, reiterated the significance of understanding customer needs and maintaining a clear brand purpose as drivers of sustainable growth.
