The Trooper, located on Bryants Hill, Bristol, has reopened after a comprehensive refurbishment aimed at improving its offerings and capacity. The pub, which is part of Stonegate Group’s Craft Union brand, has undergone significant changes funded by a six-figure investment. These modifications have not only breathed new life into the venue’s atmosphere but also enhanced its ability to host more patrons by adding 56 additional seats and a new outdoor area.
In addition to seating expansion, the upgraded pub now features an indoor sports zone enriched with dartboards and advanced audio-visual installations. These improvements include facilities to broadcast Sky Sports and TNT Sports, providing a superior viewing experience for sports fans. Such enhancements align with The Trooper’s commitment to delivering exceptional entertainment to its visitors.
Lynne Hunt, who has been associated with The Trooper since 1974 and took over its management in 1990, expressed enthusiasm about the pub’s new chapter. Ms Hunt stated, “We can’t wait to welcome back locals to our new look pub! Reopening as part of the Craft Union family marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us. We know the full refurbishment has not only enriched our warm and welcoming atmosphere but also strengthened the pub’s community spirit, which was at the heart of our thoughts during the investment.”
The pub is known not only for its sporting affiliations but also for its engaging daily activities designed to foster community interaction. From darts nights on Mondays to ‘games day’ on Thursdays, and featuring local entertainment on weekends, The Trooper aims to be a hub for social gatherings. Its diverse event schedule includes a traditional meat raffle on Sundays and even a quiz and ‘race day’ during the week, encouraging patrons to immerse themselves in its vibrant environment.
The Trooper’s refurbishment represents a significant advancement in both capacity and community engagement, promising to offer enhanced experiences for all visitors.
