Boohoo Group has officially opened a vast 6,700 square foot showroom strategically located in Soho, London, a significant upgrade from its previous 3,500 square foot space. This new establishment, nestled in the heart of its Great Pulteney Street office, aims to showcase the collections of Boohoo’s five flagship brands: Boohoo, Boohoo Man, PrettyLittleThing, Karen Millen, and Debenhams, as reported by Drapers.
The new showroom was first utilised by Karen Millen, which displayed its upcoming collection. This space is not merely a display area; it serves multiple purposes, hosting product showcases for influencers, press, and celebrities as well as being a venue for internal meetings and activations.
The design of the showroom incorporates flexible work areas, dressing rooms, display wardrobes, a bespoke content space, and a garden terrace. With versatile dividing walls, the showroom can be sectioned for concurrent activities and events, thereby maximising its utility.
However, the expansion comes at a time when Boohoo is confronted with significant financial adversities. The company is grappling with declining profits, intense competition from rivals such as Shein, and an impending debt deadline. The decision to shut its US distribution centre, a move described by CEO John Lyttle as a “complete gamechanger,” is anticipated to incur a substantial cost of at least £34 million.
