British heritage brand Barbour has reinforced its presence in Covent Garden by opening a second store at a prime location on Neal Street. This move is part of a broader nationwide rollout of its innovative store concept, designed to connect with contemporary consumers while honouring its storied heritage.
The newly launched outlet, nestled in a Grade II-listed building at 37 Neal Street, occupies 579 square feet. This esteemed location is strategically chosen alongside other international and independent concept stores, enhancing its appeal to a diverse consumer base.
This new venue follows Barbour’s initial steps into Covent Garden with its two-floor store on Long Acre, opened in 2011. The Neal Street store further cements the brand’s commitment to high-traffic areas known for their vibrant shopping environment.
Earlier in the year, Barbour also unveiled a new store in Soho’s bustling Carnaby area and is poised to inaugurate another in Leeds’ Victoria Quarter shortly. These openings are an integral part of Barbour’s ‘New Heritage’ retail concept, which aims to combine industrial design elements with the brand’s traditional craftsmanship.
Paul Wilkinson, Barbour group commercial director, highlighted the brand’s strategy: “Our new heritage stores are here to tell the authentic story of our brand to consumers and connect with our unique heritage as well as offering one-off, limited edition re-loved jackets and re-waxing services under our wax for life programme, showcasing the business’s commitment to extending the life of our garments.”
Barbour’s latest store opening in Covent Garden underscores its strategic expansion and dedication to preserving heritage through innovative retail concepts.
