Asda has introduced a new saved cash feature to boost its Rewards app, appealing to those preparing for Christmas.
- The Christmas Saver Cashpot, part of Asda’s app, allows users to save up to £300 for holiday spending.
- Participants can earn a cash bonus, deposited in November, based on their transfers to the Christmas Saver Cashpot.
- Alternatively, the saved amount can be utilised as vouchers for in-store or online purchases during the festive months.
- Asda’s initiative aligns with its latest findings on consumer spending challenges in various UK regions.
Asda, a prominent supermarket chain, has launched a new feature in its widely-used Asda Rewards app, the Christmas Saver Cashpot. This addition enables customers planning their Christmas spending to save effectively by transferring funds into this special cashpot, with a cap of £300 in total savings. As individuals prepare for the festive season, managing budgets becomes crucial; thus, this feature provides a structured savings approach.
Upon transferring money into the Christmas Saver Cashpot, customers are entitled to receive a one-time cash bonus, the value of which is contingent on the amount transferred. This bonus will be credited between 20 November and 24 November 2023, offering users a timely financial boost for Christmas purchases. This approach not only incentivises saving but also enhances customer engagement with the loyalty programme.
In lieu of cash bonuses, participants have the option to convert their Christmas Saver Cashpot into vouchers. These vouchers can be redeemed in-store or online from 24 November to 31 December 2023. This flexibility offers consumers the choice of using their accumulated savings in a manner that best suits their festive needs.
The launch follows Asda’s recent Income Tracker report, which highlights the financial constraints faced by families in the UK after covering essential expenditures. This strategic move by Asda is a direct response to these findings and aims to provide economic relief through structured savings and rewards.
Since its introduction, the Asda Rewards app has gained over five million active users, contributing more than £198 million in rewards back to shoppers since the previous August. The app encourages shoppers to undertake Missions and purchase Star Products to build their cashpots. Additionally, Asda offers a Christmas Savings Gift Card, promising a bonus of up to £15 for loads made by 12 November, further enhancing festive savings options for customers.
Asda’s strategic update to its loyalty app underscores its commitment to assisting customers in optimising their Christmas savings amidst challenging economic conditions.
