AllSaints has marked a milestone in its global expansion by opening its first standalone store in Africa, situated in Cairo’s Mall of Arabia. This store not only represents the brand’s first physical presence on the continent but also signifies its strategic effort to tap into the region’s retail market.
The newly inaugurated store covers an area of 2,368 square feet at Gate 15 of the Mall of Arabia shopping complex. It offers an extensive selection of AllSaints’ clothing, footwear, and accessories for both women and men, embodying the brand’s distinctive style and broad appeal.
Reflecting an evolution in design, the Cairo outlet incorporates AllSaints’ revamped store concept, initially introduced in Los Angeles. The design is characterised by a lighter and more open aesthetic while maintaining the industrial DNA that is synonymous with the brand.
According to CEO Peter Wood, AllSaints is optimistic about its prospects in Egypt. “We already know there is strong demand for AllSaints in Egypt, having been present in some of the country’s most premium department stores since March,” he stated. The standalone store is expected to reinforce AllSaints’ position in both the country and the broader region.
The brand’s recent financial performance underscores its ambitious international expansion. For the year ending 3 February 2024, AllSaints reported a 40% rise in operating profit to £39.9 million, alongside a modest increase in revenue to £459.5 million. This financial strength is enabling the company to broaden its footprint, including strategic openings across Europe and Asia, where its offerings are well-received.
AllSaints’ first African store opening in Cairo signifies a robust expansion strategy driven by strong financial performance and market demand.
