The Aerospace Bristol café is scheduled for a short closure in February as it undergoes a refurbishment aimed at improving the visitor experience. The museum, known for housing the last-ever Concorde to fly, seeks to enhance the café’s ambiance, making it more inviting for the local communities, including Brabazon, Patchway, and Charlton Hayes.
During the renovation period, which the museum indicates will last only a few days, the café will remain closed to the public. The project will integrate new interior designs inspired by the Bristol Aeroplane Company, celebrating the site’s storied aviation legacy.
In addition to aesthetic enhancements, the café will also extend its opening hours and introduce more community-oriented events, underscoring the museum’s commitment to serving as a community hub. Adam Jones, head of marketing and commercial operations, noted, ‘We’re aiming to create a much more welcoming space for our community’s residents. This transformation will not only elevate the café but also help us further achieve our goal of being a community hub where visitors can relax and connect.‘
The refurbishment announcement follows a prestigious award from VisitEngland, recognising the café’s quality offerings in food and drink as part of the Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme. Chris Walter, operations director for the catering partner Fosters Events, shared his enthusiasm, stating, ‘We have brought our quality, locally sourced food to Aerospace Bristol and have served wonderful seasonal menus to their many visitors. It’s fantastic to be recognised by VisitEngland and to receive a Food & Drink accolade.‘
The temporary closure and refurbishment of Aerospace Bristol café highlight the museum’s ongoing efforts to enhance visitor engagement and community interaction.
